FINAL CONCERT, Jeszcze Polska Muzyka, Oświęcim

On Sunday, 27 November, at 7 p.m., the Oświęcim Cultural Centre will host a concert performed by the Beethoven Academy Orchestra in Krakow, conducted by Peter Valentovic, entitled ‘Jeszcze Polska Muzyka’ (Polish Music Still Lives).

‘Jeszcze Polska Muzyka’ is a perfectly selected repertoire promoting forgotten Polish music in the context of the world’s most outstanding works. It also promotes artists and soloists from the Małopolska region, as well as the Beethoven Academy Orchestra, which performs in the largest concert halls in Europe.

The Beethoven Academy Orchestra is an extremely successful ensemble, created by enthusiasts, the most outstanding students and graduates of European music academies – the youngest symphony orchestra in Poland. They began their activity in 2003, and two years later, thanks to Elżbieta Penderecka, they performed at the 9th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw, garnering excellent reviews and receiving many invitations to participate in prestigious festivals in Poland and abroad.

The orchestra has recorded sixteen albums to date and, with equal success, reaches for classical entertainment and film music as well as high music scores. The high class of the Beethoven Academy Orchestra is also confirmed by its collaboration with the greatest authorities in the art of conducting, composers and soloists, including Krzysztof Penderecki, Wolfgang Seeliger, Cristiano Vasquez, Małgorzata Walewska and Konstantin Scherbakov.
