Honored with over 70 awards, including two Oscars, Walt Disney Studio’s breathtaking adventure comedy “Frozen” will be presented with live music on February 5th in Kraków. The film was produced with such grandeur that it is easy to forget you are watching a movie and believe that Arendelle truly exists. Thanks to this grand spectacle, produced by the City of Kraków and the Krakow Festival Office with the support of Disney, we will be able to transport ourselves into the world of Arendelle and feel the magic for ourselves. The film is both funny and heart-wrenching, yet capable of surprising the audience. It is characterized by distinct characters, an epic story, and excellent visual execution that meets the demands of today’s audience. The film will be screened on a massive screen measuring 26 meters wide and 11 meters high, accompanied by music performed live by over a hundred artists. We invite viewers of all ages, both the youngest and the slightly older, to this stunning high-definition display of image and light accompanied by magical music.
“Frozen” was produced by Walt Disney Animation Studio, and its action takes place in the fictional kingdom of Arendelle, for which the spectacular landscapes of Norway served as visual inspiration. Elsa possesses the magical power to create snow and ice. However, she cannot control it and accidentally triggers an untamed blizzard, condemning the kingdom of Arendelle to eternal winter. Frightened, she flees Arendelle. Her younger sister Anna sets out on a great quest to find her. She is aided in her search by mountain expert Kristoff. In their adventurous trek through the snowdrifts, they are accompanied by the reindeer Sven and a hilarious snowman named Olaf.
During this grand concert, we will hear songs composed by Tony Award winner Robert Lopez (“The Book of Mormon,” “Avenue Q”) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (“In Transit,” “Winnie the Pooh”), as well as the spectacular score by Christophe Beck (the Oscar-winning short “Paperman”). The Krakow arena will resound with fairy-tale hits beloved by both the youngest and slightly older fans, including: the Oscar-winning song “Let It Go” as well as “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”, “In Summer,” and “For the First Time in Forever.”
The spectacle is a side event of the 2016 Krakow Film Music Festival. The organizers are the City of Kraków and the Krakow Festival Office, and the partner is Disney Music Group.
