Last Night of the Proms

20th Jubilee LAST NIGHT OF THE PROMS IN CRACOW

For over a hundred years, the most important event in British musical life has been the annual London Promenade Concerts, held in July, August, and September. Its conclusion and culmination is the Last Night of the Proms – a gala concert at the Royal Albert Hall, featuring performances (to an enthusiastic audience) of famous British works such as Land of Hope and Glory, Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Rule Britannia, and Jerusalem. In 1996, the Kraków Industrial Society decided to organize a replica of the Last Night of the Proms in Kraków, and the concert’s success prompted the Society to transform it into a recurring event. Today, the “Kraków Proms” have a long tradition. Over 30 soloists from Poland and abroad have performed, and dozens of premieres have been performed.

The Last Night of the Proms in Kraków is a concert unlike any other: it combines the highest artistic standard with the spontaneous response of the audience.
