7–8 November 2025 – Farewell to Elżbieta Penderecka
Commemorative ceremonies in honor of Elżbieta Penderecka will take place at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Kraków on 7–8 November 2025.
Friday, 7 November, 7:00 PM – An evening of remembrance beside the urn of the Departed, accompanied by music and poetry, offering an opportunity for personal farewell. During this time, it will be possible to write in the Book of Remembrance.
Saturday, 8 November, 12:00 PM – The funeral Mass and burial ceremony are scheduled for Saturday, 8 November at 12:00 PM, also at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.
Elżbieta Penderecka leaves behind a remarkable legacy: she was the initiator and organizer of internationally renowned musical events, supported young artists, and contributed to the establishment of institutions that shape Polish musical life today. The Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, which she co-created, has become one of the key events in the global music calendar.
The memory of her passion, determination, and vision will endure.
